Staying organized might not be the most glamorous topic, but creating systems and setting up your spaces for success is the ultimate form of freedom.

It’s all about the little tweaks that upgrade your life on every level. Getting organized doesn’t mean overhauling your entire space–read on for a few actionable ideas, sorted by room–to help you get started on your organizational journey. We promise you won’t want to stop.

We’ve written lots about our favorite containers–in fact, we have a whole round-up for your reading pleasure here, but below are a few more tools we swear by for bringing serenity into your space.

Office: Desk Pads

Our first pick might seem old-fashioned, but it’s one of our favorite hacks for an organized office space. Staying organized starts with knowing your plans (we’re all familiar with the sinking feeling you get when you realize you double-booked a dinner with two close friends), and Cloth & Paper’s undated weekly and monthly desk pads make it easy to stay on track. There’s something about seeing your week and month, all laid out in one place, that makes it impossible to forget your important commitments. Undated is key, so you can start whenever you please–and not worry about wasting paper if you miss a week. For some slapdash notes, whether you’re on a call or running out the door, we love Dear Annabelle’s Maison Notepads. Need a space to store it all when you’re done for the day? Try Rifle Paper Co’s adorale letter tray.

Kitchen: Breakfast Pantry Canisters & Evermill Spice Rack

Once you’ve gotten your Magic Spoon sorted into your Breakfast Pantry canisters, you’re going to want to tackle your spice drawer. Allow us to introduce you to Evermill. Say goodbye to the days of trying to stack small, round McCormick spices with your cylindrical Morton & Bassett canisters, Evermill’s spices come packaged in gorgeous containers you can keep (and refill!) forever. Plus, their ingenious system is modular, to suit your space no matter the size.

Bathroom: A Chic, Contained Storage Unit

We know, when you think of “bathroom organization,” you probably think of the shower caddy you had in your university days. Fear not–bathroom organization has gotten a major upgrade. Our favorite way to store our products is in a small, sleek, design-oriented system–like the Kartell storage unit. It’s a modern and stylish home for all The Home Edit containers you can fit within.

Bedroom: The Ultimate Closet System

Okay, so this one might be on the more luxurious end of things, but, if you own a home or are planning to stay in a rental long-term, California Closets–whether you’re splurging on a custom system or using an existing unit–is one of the best investments you can make. The key to an organized bedroom is having a space to neatly store everything away – and California Closets creates visually beautiful systems that make it easy and appealing.

Travel: A Streamlined Tech Storage System

The sinking feeling that you’ve forgotten an important charger or adapter on a long trip away from home is all-too-familiar. Leatherology’s genius Tech Cord Roll can help with that. Store wired headphones, chargers, and AirPod cases within, and you’ll never have to rummage through your bag to find what you need again. Bonus points if you pair it with a matching leather laptop sleeve. Carrying on never looked so good.

Digital Pick: A Safe Space for Your Password

1Password isn’t a material item, but how many times have you received (and–admit it–ignored) a notification that your passwords are “weak” or “compromised?” If you’re anything like us–a few too many. 1Password generates extremely secure passwords, and stores all of them for you on your device, so you won’t forget them, and you also probably won’t get hacked. Think of how many hours you’d save if you never had to hit that “reset password” button again.
