Inspirational Podcasts to Keep You Motivated
But, in our opinion, sticking with whatever your goals are now can boost your confidence and make a big difference in how you tackle the remaining winter months. One of our favorite ways to get ourselves energized again when we get to this point is by going on a walk and firing up a good podcast. Read on for five of our go-to favorites when we need a bit of a boost.
You may have heard the phrase ‘Let Them’ floating around the internet lately, and you have Mel Robbins to thank for that. Robbins recently published a book called “The ‘Let Them’ Theory,” a book breaking down a theory that millions of people have used to achieve more mental freedom and harmony in work, life, friendships, and love. Mel walks Marianna–and you–through the entire process in this comprehensive episode that we’ve found ourselves listening to again and again.
If you’re at all into motivational speakers, then you probably know about Ed Mylett (and if you don’t, we’ll give you a bonus recommendation: this interview with him on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast is one of our favorites). In this episode, Mylett sits down with entrepreneur (and familiar MTV face to all of the 90s and 2000s kids reading this) to talk about how he’s achieved massive but steady success. It’s an older episode, but it feels truly timeless. Revisit whenever you need to feel more disciplined.
We know, a podcast called “How to Fail” might not come to mind first when you’re thinking of ways to motivate. But journalist Elizabeth Day’s long-running podcast is a smash hit in the UK for good reason: she believes that talking to notable people about how they’ve failed can teach us all how to succeed better. This deeply moving episode is an interview with Google’s former Chief Business Office, Mo Gawdat, a math-minded man who went on a determined quest to find a “formula” for happiness. When he lost his son at age 21, he needed the formula more than ever, and he discusses how he used the happiness practices he developed to move through his grief. We don’t often refer to podcasts as “life-changing,” but this one gets that status in our minds.
Jay Shetty hosts one of the most popular health and wellness podcasts in the world, and with his incredible roster of guests, it’s hardly a surprise. One of our favorite recent episodes featured neuroscientist Dr. Tara Swart, who walks through a few simple ways we can rewire our brains to guide us towards our dream lives. How’s that for motivation?
If you’re a brand owner or simply want to be inspired by one, this episode is for you. In the first episode of English Presenter Rochelle Humes’ new podcast, she interviews Emma Grede, the powerhouse businesswoman behind brands like Good American and Skims (yes, we meant it when we said powerhouse). Hearing about Emma’s journey is a study in commitment and discipline; we promise you’ll come away motivated to give your brand, your job, and your life your best efforts.
