Valentine’s Day Tablescape Tips
Valentine’s Day Tablescape Tips
If you’re just starting a relationship, the pressure’s on for a perfect date. If you’ve been in one for a long-time, you’re likely not interested in waiting at your phone to snag an enviable reservation. And if you’re single, it’s hardly pleasant to see the constant stream of Valentine’s Day couples’ posts and date ideas strewn across your social feeds.
That’s why, this year, we’re suggesting something different: a Valentine’s Day party for everyone. No, it doesn’t have to be a “Galentine’s” and, no, you don’t have to be single to attend–lots of couples would rather not be bothered with the dinner-planning process anyways. This year, Valentine’s Day falls on Friday, so why not throw a fabulous, themed dinner party in the holiday’s honor, and invite whoever you want–whether they bring a plus one or not?
If this sounds like a less-stress alternative to your typical mad dash for plans, whether you’re coupled up or not, read on for all our tips for making it extra special.
Valentine’s Day is not the day to shy away from a theme! But there are ways to lean into theme and keep things beautiful, not kitschy. Read on for how we do it.
Alternate your taper candles. It’s Valentine’s Day, so pink is crucial: we love these ones from The Floral Society, alternated with our clean, yellow beeswax candles from Il Buco Vita. For an extra special touch, we love hand painted candles from Ashley Myers to round out the candle setup. As far as candleholders go, you can’t go wrong placing all of them in our Carola Fra i Trulli candeleiere.
It’s Valentine’s Day, so we’d be remiss if we didn’t pay homage to the humble rose. This edition of our Carola Fra i Trulli candle is scented with rose and topped with a gorgeous, festive pink hand-painted cover that you can keep on the table for a seasonal touch.
Having a fun signature cocktail is key, and what cocktail could be better for Valentine’s Day than our signature blush champagne cocktail? The pink hue and the flavor from Chambord packs an alluring vanilla-raspberry punch. Pro tip: splurge on a bottle of your favorite champagne and serve the drink in Sophie Lou Jacobsen’s piano cocktail glasses.
We love the idea of leaning into a light, simple dinner so you’re not stressed and can give all of your energy to your guests.
Start with a simple winter crudité while guests are entering the party and then keep the main event as easy as possible: simple French green salad and a vegan pesto alla trapanese will satisfy almost all dietary requirements.
We’ve been obsessed with our plant-based cacao cake since we launched it with LINNÉ botanicals last year, and we’d be hard-pressed to think of something more perfect than a pink-frosted cake dotted with raspberries for a holiday that’s all about red and pink. It’s easier and healthier than you’d think, and guaranteed to wow your guests.
That’s all for our Valentine’s Day party tips! Don’t forget to wear something fabulous, cue up a good playlist, have games on tap–and don’t be shy about party favors (conversation hearts tied with a pink silk ribbon on every guest’s plate will do)!
