Is there anything better than chips and guac?

Chips and the perfect homemade guac, we’d say. This recipe pays homage to guacamole’s traditional Mexican roots, with finely diced white onion, plentiful cilantro, and zesty lime. As with all guacamole, it’s best to enjoy immediately–but if you can’t, just cover it in plastic wrap. to prevent oxidation.

Serves: 4 to 6

Ingredients
  • 4 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
  • 3 tbsp fresh lime juice, plus extra wedges to garnish
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ medium white onion, very finely chopped
  • ¼ cup finely chopped cilantro, plus extra to garnish
  • 2 tbsp chopped corn nuts, to garnish (optional)
  • Salted tortilla chips, for serving
Instructions
  1. Scoop avocado flesh into a large bowl. Add lime juice and salt. Roughly mash with a fork or potato masher until fully combined. Stir in onion and cilantro. Scrape into a serving bowl, then sprinkle with cilantro and corn nuts, if using. Serve immediately with tortilla chips and lime wedges.

How to Store It

Guacamole will keep, with the surface covered with plastic wrap, in an airtight container for up to 1 day.
