The Boulevardier is the Negroni’s lesser-known, but (dare we say it?) more sophisticated cousin.

Smoky, smooth, and rich–it’s whiskey-based and essentially designed for sipping by the fireplace. To add an ultra-festive twist during the month of love, why not drop in a dash of chocolate bitters for a boozy take on the classic chocolate-orange?

How to Make It

Serves: 1

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ oz whisky, such as bourbon or rye
  • ¾ oz Campari
  • ¾ oz sweet red vermouth
  • Strip of orange peel, to garnish
Instructions
  1. Fill a stirring glass or cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add whisky, Campari and vermouth. Stir or shake well. Strain into a lowball glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange peel.
