We love a good cocktail bar or bar cart.

It’s equal parts fashion and function, adding character and convenience to any space. And, it’s quick to become the life of the party. You can style it with spirits and beautiful books and glassware. Added bonus: it’s great for storage.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to make it your own and entertain with ease.

Start with the cart

If you don’t already have a built-in, you can easily make an at-home bar by choosing a stylish cart. Luckily, there are a lot of options to choose from. Like a lot, a lot. So, you have ample opportunity to pick a piece that suits your interiors. You can add a pop of color or keep it interesting with a vintage piece. Or, you can even repurpose an old or unused piece of furniture. See some of our favorites below.

Go all-in on the alcohol

Keep multiple liquors on-hand for quick-and-easy, crowd-pleasing cocktails. Since these boozy bottles will be on display, we love to opt for brands that put a little extra effort into their packaging. When it comes time to entertain, we love to be prepared with a pitcher of something special, like this Peach Sangria.

Keep the styling simple

When it comes to your bar cart, the details make all the difference. It’s what sets apart the college dorms from the elevated decor. We love investing in beautiful glassware and adding unexpected accents. Try finding cocktail recipe books to add color and interest, and stack them to elevate the base of your bottles.

Go green

Fresh flowers are always a good idea. It’s an instant way to add color and life to your new cart. You can even consider growing an herb, such as rosemary, mint, or basil, so you always have fresh ingredients for cocktails on hand.
