Rum and Tonic

The dark, spiced notes of rum work beautifully paired with tonic water for a fall-inspired twist on a classic drink.

This version uses pretty autumn garnishes like star anise and an apple slice to keep it feeling of the season.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 ounces dark rum
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 small lemon wedge
  • 4 to 6 ounces tonic water
  • Apple slice, to garnish

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Pour rum into a lowball glass filled with ice. Add star anise, then squeeze over lemon wedge before adding to the glass. Add tonic water, stirring lightly to combine.
  2. Garnish with apple slice. Serve immediately.
