Brand Spotlight: Kanju Interiors
By Casa de Suna
So starts the Kanju Interiors brand video, and it embodies both founder Meghan Bartos’ personal connection with the continent and Kanju’s brand ethos.
Founded in 2017, Kanju focuses on sourcing homewares exclusively from the continent of Africa. Every product involves a partnership with an African artisan or artisan group, and each piece in the collection is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece.
Pieces from different regions employ different techniques, many of which are ancient tribal traditions that have been passed down through generations for centuries.
There’s a lot to love from Kanju, and you can feel the craftsmanship that goes into every piece. We love using the bowls and baskets to store blankets, and, when it comes to the more petite varieties, food, but, even if you have nothing to fill them with, they stand alone as decor.
The pillows are similarly sumptuous–simple and subtle but stylish, placing a few on a couch or chair is the ultimate finishing touch in any contemporary chic room.
